Ana Qarri

Ana is developing a broad litigation practice. Prior to joining Adair Goldblatt Bieber, Ana clerked for Justice Malcolm Rowe of the Supreme Court of Canada and for the judges at the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Between clerkships, Ana worked as a litigation associate at a full-service international law firm, where they advised clients on a broad range of civil and appellate matters, including in privacy and cybersecurity regulation, consumer protection, and administrative law. 

Ana graduated from McGill University with degrees in common law and Quebec civil law. In law school, Ana excelled in both academic and practical legal work. Ana was a research assistant in the areas of privacy and tort law, a teaching assistant in first-year torts, and both co-created and taught a seminar exploring constitutional remedies in Canada and internationally. They worked on cutting-edge internet law litigation at the University of Ottawa’s Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic and helped start-up founders understand their regulatory obligations as a volunteer at the Compass Startup Clinic. 

Prior to embarking on their career in law, Ana worked in public policy. They completed a non-partisan parliamentary internship program at Legislative Assembly of Ontario and with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, where they developed a strong foundation in public law and stakeholder management. 

Ana is dedicated to community. They are a trustee with the Bill 7 Award, an organization that provides scholarships to 2SLGBTQ+ students in financial need who are pursuing their first post-secondary degrees. They also serve as a Fellow at the Citizen Lab, an interdisciplinary laboratory at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy which focuses on technical and legal research on the risks that the abuse of communication technologies poses to democracy and global security.
