Who We Are
Litigation: equal parts legal strategy and client service.
Adair Goldblatt Bieber is a top-tier litigation boutique. When it comes to legal services and strategies, nothing holds us back. We have earned our reputation Canada-wide by taking on challenging files and partnering with our clients to deliver creative, intelligent, and practical solutions to complex problems.
Based in Toronto, we assist clients coast-to-coast and internationally. We show up where and when our clients need us.
Where we began.
In 2018, a small group of talented, ambitious litigators came together with a vision for a firm where people were uninhibited from delivering exceptional advocacy, providing pragmatic advice, and developing in a supportive environment. Good people, doing good work. Since then, our firm has grown in both reputation and size, into one of Canada’s premier providers of civil, commercial, and administrative litigation services.
Perspective matters.
At AGB, we combine our expertise as advocates with modern perspectives, practical advice, and business acumen to deliver intelligent legal solutions and responsive client service.
We have the expertise, sophistication, and bench strength to litigate the largest and most complex matters. Yet from our entrepreneurial origins, we retain the flexibility, agility, and creativity to provide innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. No matter the file, and no matter its size, our service is always attentive, and our advice is clear, actionable, and tailored for you.
Our lawyers bring a wealth of legal expertise from various backgrounds; all of them rigorous training grounds. Some have worked at leading national and multi-national firms, where they gained valuable experience handling complex legal matters. Others started at leading litigation boutiques where they honed meticulous advocacy skills. Many were also judicial law clerks, where they gained a deep understanding of the court system and invaluable insight into how judges think. We also have lawyers who bring business and industry experience from careers prior to law.
This varied experience adds up to one thing: a multi-pronged perspective that evaluates our cases and solutions from all angles. That’s what makes our work different.
We support good people, doing good for the community.
We pride ourselves on being a community of lawyers committed to engaging with our professional and broader community. We don’t just say this; we live it.
In 2023, Canadian Lawyer Magazine recognized us as one of Canada’s Best Pro Bono Law Firms. Beyond that, our lawyers are actively involved in legal, business, and sporting communities, sharing their expertise, knowledge, and time where it is needed. They regularly seek out leadership roles, sitting on the boards of legal and non-legal organizations meaningful them.
Our lawyers are engaged board and committee members of The Advocates' Society (and its Young Advocates' Standing Committee), Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, Ontario Securities Commission, Toronto Lawyers' Association, and other similar institutions, where they contribute to shaping and improving the future of our profession and industry. Others are actively involved in educating the lawyers of tomorrow through teaching at law schools, delivering continuing professional development, and writing on important legal topics.
As a firm, we appreciate the intrinsic value of community engagement, both for the individuals involved and the community’s benefit. We also recognize that engaged people gain perspectives and insight that make them better litigators. It’s a win-win, and we are committed to ensuring our firm aligns with and promotes that vision.
