Gord acts for individuals and businesses in all manner of civil and commercial litigation, with particular expertise in insurance coverage disputes. He also acts in contractual and tort disputes, employment law, real estate litigation, defamation, partnership and shareholder disputes, and professional negligence claims. Gord is a seasoned advocate, having represented clients in several multi-week trials and appeared as lead or co-counsel in over 50 reported decisions in Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and Court of Appeal.

After graduating from Dalhousie University as the Gold Medalist and completing his articles at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (now Dentons), Gord was selected as one of two Ontario lawyers to spend a year working alongside barristers in London, England as a Fox Scholar. This experience gave Gord insight into what makes a truly exceptional advocate and inspired him to hone his own craft. He has since developed into a consummate advocate, with the skills and judgment to litigate intricate and complex matters across diverse subject-matters and legal disciplines.

Gord regularly contributes to legal publications and is a dedicated legal educator. He teaches Insurance Law as an Adjunct Professor at Western University and is a contributing author on the topic of insurance broker’s professional liability for Lexis Practice Advisor Canada.
