Andrew Locatelli, with counsel and while at his prior firm, represented Specialty Life Inc. in successfully obtaining recognition and enforcement by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) of a $52.4 million arbitral award for civil fraud, plus approximately $1.75 million in costs. The Court also dismissed the opposing applications to set aside the awards on jurisdiction, procedural fairness and bias grounds, and to declare the arbitration invalid as against related non-parties.
