Jordan Goldblatt joins the Class Proceedings Committee

We are incredibly proud to share that, effective October 1, 2025, our firm's Managing Partner, Jordan Goldblatt, was appointed as a member of the Class Proceedings Committee by The Law Foundation of Ontario. You can view the press release here.

This appointment recognizes Jordan's substantial expertise in class actions, as well as his leadership in that niche bar. Jordan has a robust class proceedings practice, acting as both defence counsel and successful lead class counsel.

"We are very pleased that Jordan is joining the Class Proceedings Committee", says John Brown, the Committee’s Chair and the Legal and Strategic Advisor. "Jordan brings an extensive breadth and depth of litigation expertise, in particular in class actions, as well as diverse experience in public interest matters. He will be a great addition to the Committee."

Please join us in congratulating Jordan on his appointment. We have no doubt that Jordan's contributions to the Committee will contribute meaningfully to the the access to justice objectives advanced by both The Law Foundation of Ontario and its Class Proceedings Fund.

More about the Class Proceedings Committee

The Class Proceedings Committee is responsible for making decisions about whether applicant class action plaintiffs will receive support from the Class Proceedings Fund. Both the Fund and Committee were established in 1992 as an amendment under the Law Society Act.

The Fund provides financial support to approved class action plaintiffs for legal disbursements and indemnifies plaintiffs for costs that may be awarded against them in funded proceedings. The Fund promotes access to justice by enabling individuals to use the law to improve their lives and the lives of many others. Without it, potential class action plaintiffs could be discouraged from pursuing their claims. This is because the personal benefit to them might be quite small and they would risk exposure to significant costs awards against them if the lawsuit is unsuccessful.

The Law Foundation of Ontario provided a $500,000 endowment to establish the Class Proceedings Fund and supports the work of the Class Proceedings Committee by administering the Class Proceedings Fund. The Class Proceedings Committee has five members, one appointed by each of The Law Foundation of Ontario and the Attorney General of Ontario, and three appointed jointly.
