Jordan Goldblatt and Logan St. John-Smith acted successfully for the applicant lawyers in obtaining an order under section 140 of the Courts of Justice Act declaring the plaintiff across several proceedings a vexatious litigant. The applicant lawyers were the defendants to those proceedings, and had all previously represented the plaintiff.
The order declaring the plaintiff a vexatious litigant precludes her from continuing her existing proceedings against the applicant lawyers, and also prohibits her from initiating any further proceedings, in any court, without leave from a judge of the Superior Court of Justice.
In granting the relief sought, the Court held that the issues raised on the application "were not only very important to the applicants but to everyone who has been the target of Ms. Tran's vexatious litigation. This application was truly brought in the public interest."
