AGB celebrates Pride and welcomes John McIntyre to discuss OHIP v. KS

Happy Pride! We were delighted to come together yesterday to recognize and celebrate Pride Month with our lawyers, staff and some friends of the firm.

We began our afternoon with a presentation from John McIntyre of McIntyre Szabo PC on Legal Challenges in Gender Affirming Care and the OHIP v. KS decision, in which the Court of Appeal for Ontario recently confirmed that the gender affirming care recommended for KS is an insurable service not excluded from funding under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. The case is an important step in the right direction for securing equal access to healthcare for trans and nonbinary people in Ontario.

We capped the day off with a Pride social, seamlessly organized by AGB lawyer, Katie Glowach.

It was great to take an afternoon and evening away from practice, yet together with colleagues, to both educate ourselves and reaffirm our commitment to supporting our 2SLGBTQ+ clients, colleagues, and communities.
