Nathaniel Read-Ellis and Sean Pierce successfully represented a purchaser in this contested court-supervised sale process in a receivership matter concerning a mixed-use development property. The case arose following the breakdown of a joint venture, leading to the court-ordered appointment of a receiver and a supervised sale process. When a lender to and owner of the property opposed approval of the sale and a vesting order in favor of our client, we successfully defended the transaction alongside the Receiver at both the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. The case highlights our ability to achieve favorable outcomes for clients in high-stakes insolvency and commercial disputes.
