YASC Fireside Chat on Advocacy: Spotlighting and supporting mental health in our profession

Yesterday evening, Adair Goldblatt Bieber had the honour of sponsoring the most recent Fireside Chat on Advocacy Series, presented by the Young Advocates' Standing Committee (YASC) of The Advocates' Society, and co-chaired by our partner, Robert Stellick.

This installment of the ever-popular advocacy series (directed at litigators 10 years of Call or less) was unique in its emphasis on supporting the mental health of litigators in practice. The esteemed panel of speakers included committed mental health advocates and experts: The Honourable Justice Fred Myers, Jordan Bergman, and Professor Benjamin Berger, in conversation moderated by Yadesha Satheaswaran.

The panel led an illuminating and impactful conversation. The discussion was infused with insights from lived experience, as well as professional and academic perspectives. Attendees left with practical tips for building resilience and ensuring longevity in the practice of law. Ultimately, the event provided empowering insights and helpful guidance while also contributing to the broader effort to destigmatize mental illness within our profession.

Thank you to all that took the time out of your busy schedules to join YASC for this important conversation. We look forward to continuing to work within our litigation community to promote, prioritize and support mental health and wellbeing within our profession
