AGB lawyers judge the 2026 Hamish Stewart Cup
Today, four AGB lawyers - Rachel Allen, Sean Pierce, Jacqueline Houston, and Marisa Benjamin - will have the pleasure of judging the 2026 Hamish Stewart Cup at the University of Toronto's Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law.
Also known as the "Baby Callaghan", this criminal-constitutional moot provides an incredible opportunity for first-year law students to hone their advocacy skills. For most of the mooters, this will be their first time 'on their feet' in 'court'. They will experience the thrill of presenting their carefully crafted legal arguments and thinking on their feet to engage with questions from a hot bench.
We are grateful to AGB summer student Kate Shackleton, who is on the moot's organizing committee, for giving us the opportunity to get involved. Watching budding advocates put their advocacy skills into practice never ceases to inspire us in our own practices, reminding us of how lucky we are to do what we do. Good luck to all the mooters!
